Social Network Marketing became a popular term a few years ago, after the online network marketing industry came alive. Although it’s a very misunderstood word, social network marketing can be a great asset to your business.

There is no such thing as a “Social Network Marketing Company or Program”, it’s really about understanding how to use social media in the correct form to connect with the right people for your business.

Social Media has become a new way to communicate, especially in recent years with Myspace, Facebook and Linkedin, as well as Twitter.

There are millions of people on social networks, but how do you connect with the right ones?

Well there is a very simple formula you must follow as a network marketer if you desire a positive outcome when marketing on social networks.

But before I get into the correct formula, let me share with you what others are doing who are failing miserably trying to market their businesses on social networks, so you don’t do the same.

Formula For Failure:

1. Incorrect Targeting: Many network marketers online think they can just go on any social site and begin spamming their business opportunity link, hoping people will join. They quickly realize people on social sites are much smarter and have been previously spammed, so they have their “spam guard” up.

When targeting individuals on social sites, most are targeting the wrong people in the same niche: There is a tremendous amount of incorrect training that teaches network marketers to attend groups, start their own groups and just spam affiliate products and systems that have nothing to do with network marketing.

All you are doing is spamming other network marketers who are doing the exact same, so there really is no value, just wasting time.

2. What You Say: This is a critical piece that you must understand in order to make social network marketing effective. Majority of individuals who are attempting to market on social sites are saying the wrong things, posting the wrong videos, the wrong status updates, loading the wrong pictures which defaults to creating a ugly online brand.

You must remember, what you post on a social site any of your potential prospects can also see. If you are posting conspiracy videos, drama videos, crazy stuff that has nothing of value it just shows who you really are.

Someone who is interested in creating financial freedom, starting a business from home will not be attracted to someone who is unprofessional.

I personally would never interact with someone who is a friend on Facebook that is always posting junk material, I rather read the USA Today.

3. Keeping The Conversation Online: Here is the last piece that causes a tremendous amount of misery and failure when it comes to actually building a business through social sites.

Majority of network marketers who are online trying to generate leads through social sites, do a horrible job taking the conversation OFF the social site.

The reason you take a conversation off a social site, is because they are extremely distracting, and the virtual world only goes so far when you are building a business relationship.

Formula For Success:

1. How You Generate Social Friends:  In order to be connecting with quality prospects on social sites, you must generate online content that builds you a list. From this list you can invite people to interact with you on social sites, this is where you provide them with value by sharing quality videos, articles, status updates that can impact their businesses.

This is totally different than going out and adding a bunch of random people who are in groups doing the same spamming as all other group members.

You now have an edge, the people interacting with you have read your content, and possibly seen your video and now are ready to create a trustworthy relationship based on how you act on social media.

2. What You Say/How You Say It: Your ability to communicate in a professional manner will distinguish you from the rest of the herd who is out there just blasting whatever comes to mind. Whenever you interact via live chat, status updates, new friend request, your words must be precise and meaningful. If you are using video to communicate with social friends, make sure your videos provide value and make sense, don’t just post a random video that has no personality, no value and is not targeted to your social audience.

3. Offline Conversation: This is the most important step in this formula, it determines how much money you make. You can spend hours on Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter but if you are not creating a profit, you are wasting time.

Once you have connected with a potential prospect on a social site, then you do a private chat and from there you MUST take the conversation to the phones. This is a critical step in your success when meeting and recruiting people from social sites. Everyone wants to hide behind their computer and never actually connect with people verbally. Relationships are not built through technology, they are built through professional private conversations where 2 people can hear each other’s voice.
