Matias Leiva- The Last 4years Of My Life…….

The last 4years of my life have been small and big ocean waves of knowledge, struggles and obstacles as an entrepreneur.

I started my journey at the age of 17, I had broken my leg playing soccer and I became a bit hopeless with what I wanted to do in life. As a young kid I could only dream about playing soccer professionally, driving fancy cars, big houses and a lavish lifestyle that many of us only dream about.

I picked up my first book literally, I never really read in highschool. If the teacher gave me an assignment I would copy someone elses or just go through the web and find out the key points and make up a essay around. I was a bit creative on how I did things, I knew inside of me I wanted something different in life than all other 99% of the people in this world.

The first book I read was “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, by Robert Kiosayaki, this book literally transformed my mindset. As I was in my second year of high school, I began researching ways to make $100,000 per year as a career. It was seriously dreadful to see the time I would have to commit in school to finally reach that type of income, although when you look at salaries it doesn’t tell you how much is going to be taxed from what you make.

During this same year I had suffered a serious broken leg playing soccer. I remember being at Granite Bay High School, this kid came in sliding full speed and literally just snapped my leg in 2 peices… OUCH! Soon after this occurred I went through a break up with a girl I had truly fallen for and I was totally miserable and really didn’t have much inside of me to do anything with life.

I am sitting here today Dec.15-2009 as I write this post, and I look back at those days and you know something I learned a lot, I truly believe that year is what transformed my mindset and maturity in becoming a better person and doing something precious with my life.

Back to the early days…So like I was saying everything was not going my way at all, I had failed a few classes and I was literally just getting by.

I began to read personal development books, and I began to study what rich people do. I came to this conclusion as I was driving in this very nice neighborhood and all I saw were nice cars, big houses and freedom in the eyes of the residents in that community.

I wanted that lifestyle. I saw my parents everyday struggle to make ends meet, although we did have “STUFF”, we were more behind on bills, payments and life itself than anyone could imagine. Trust me when times were tough, we were good at creating a cover, but behind the cover it was HELL.

It was 2005 and my parents lost their home and went through a divorce. Although I was old enough to know why it was really happening, I began to tell myself this is NOT what I want my life to be. I do not want everything to be dependent on money, unhappiness because I saw what it had done to the close ones.

I was still getting by in school. Soccer began to come back around for me, but no were near where  I was at one point. At my highest peak in soccer  I was training with the best of best here in the united states. Seriously I went to the camps where they brought in the best 90-120 players out of millions of kids, literally millions……

Soccer is the main part of my life that created the leadership and maturity role quickly. You see for many people it takes them a few years, maybe until they are 25-30 years old to finally realize a few things that I had to learn at the age of 17.

I was the captain of all the teams of played on, I have boxes and boxes of metals, shirts, signed soccer balls and MVP awards…Man those were some amazing days of my life..

But you know, I knew there was something greater in life than just kicking a ball around and scoring goals, winning metals. I had this feeling inside of me that i was bound for greatness, I was put on this planet to create one of the most amazing stories and lives that will empower and motivate others my age to do the same…..

We are now heading into 2006, it was that summer and I began doing my first small little part-time business. On the weekdays I would mow lawns (go figure) with my buddy Mitch, and then on the weekends I would head over to the flea markets and buy used cell phones and sell them on ebay. That summer I made a wopping $1,000.. I was literally blown away, going into my senior year with $1,000 in my bank account, I felt like a KING!

My senior year was definitely awesome, I met some amazing people and had some great teachers… But you know  there was that feeling inside of me saying this: “Matias there is more to”….

I didn’t really get what the message was trying to identify in my life for me, but I knew that there was something else.

It was almost the end of the semester, and I had a friend of mine named Matt, introduce me to a gentlement that drove a yellow lamborghini, had a suit, had the house  (el dorado hills) and was willing to teach me how to become wealthy..

From that day, that very moment I have completely transformed my life.. Literally, my thought process is not like the usual person. I have been 2-3 moves ahead of all other individuals, my maturity, the relationships have all changed.

As  I graduated from high school in 2006 (3years ago), I was seeing and visioning a new life for myself. I was already building a part-time business, I was attending seminars and reading every book or magazine that had to do with creating wealth.

I am not going to get into details every little thing  I did, I could write a complete book of the last 4years of my life, but  I want to make sure you understand some of the following challenges of my life, and how I over came them.

1. In 2007 I found myself probably in the worse situation financially, emotionally, physically once again. I kept trying to figure out why all this was happening to me, why was my life working in CYCLES…

A) The cycles of life: Grab a piece of paper and draw a straight line with a pencil. Document every major change, impact in your life the last 5years. You will notice indirectly that there has been cycles in your life, and just follow me here because I will connect the dots for you.

So go ahead and draw that line..

2. In 2008 I made $157,000 in less than 9 months, and lost $140,000 in an investment overnight. Ok how the hell did this happen? I went from nobody to creating an amazing lifestyle for a few months, back to going broke again.

Go to your piece of paper, and you will notice that there has been up and downs the last 5years of your life. These were my up and downs and the most difficult moments to over come.

3. The last part of 2008: I went out and built a small course and sold it, I generated around $60,000 in sales and had a nice chunk of change left over.

Jeezeee yet another cycle to document. My objective is for you to understand that no matter where you are TODAY, you can always change tomorrow.

I truly mean that.

Did this happen overnight for me? Heck NO… But i figured out that my  life has been working in cycles literally and yours is too.

2009- I literally spent this year doing NOTHING.. I had money saved, I was receive a few checks every months from different companies and products I had sold and man the first 9months of this year where very very LAYED BACK.

I spent the summer working out, wakeboarding, traveling and enjoying it with my friends. I spent 45 days living down in Arizona, just enjoying a new scene and partying a bit haha.

I want you to really focus and break down your cycles. This is one of the most amazing discoveries I made personally about my life, and I started doing it for other family members and its truly amazing what you will find out.

2010 is going to be an amazing year, keep in touch with me here on my blog… I will always be updating my progress and what I learn so it can help influence your life and others around you.

I leave you with this:

This is a famous quote from a mentor of mine who recently passed away, but I listen and communicate with him still!

He taught me this:

“Matias, in order for things to change you have to change.” Also Matias “For things to get better, you have to get better”

Those words should motivate you, and empower you to change and truly break out from everything and create that freedom you desire!

I love you all,

Matias Leiva!
